Founded in 2001 by a group of compassionate individuals in Kuwait, Santhwanam stands as a testament to the transformative power of altruism. This charitable and philanthropic organization has dedicated the past 22 years to aiding sick and helpless Malayalees, embodying the spirit of empathy and service.
Santhwanam's primary mission revolves around providing treatment assistance to vulnerable populations, transcending barriers of region, religion, caste, creed, and class. Over the years, the organization has disbursed treatment assistance exceeding 15 crore rupees, benefiting more than sixteen thousand patients. In 2022 alone, Sathwanam extended a helping hand to 1279 patients, contributing Rs. 1 Crore 33 Lakhs towards their medical needs.
Sathwanam operates with the strength of around 2000 like-minded expatriate Indians in Kuwait, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. More than 40 dedicated volunteers from diverse backgrounds actively participate in the organization's day-to-day activities, ensuring that voluntary contributions from members and well-wishers reach those in acute distress every month.
In response to the enduring 'Endosulfan' tragedy in Kerala's Kasaragod district, Sathwanam launches a special project for 2023, "Centre for Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation." This initiative reflects the organization's commitment to honoring the life and dignity of the affected community. Sathwanam Kuwait plans to build and provide a Physiotherapy Center, offering free services to victims of Endosulfan poisoning, further exemplifying their dedication to compassionate and impactful philanthropy. Sathwanam is not merely an organization; it is a symbol of compassion, resilience and the unwavering belief that collective efforts can create a brighter, healthier future for the most vulnerable among us.
